Thief Targets Lotto Tickets

   Thieves who broke into a Lawrenceburg business early Thursday morning were apparently focused on stealing lottery tickets only.

   Lawrenceburg Police Officers report they were dispatched to Mapco Express, 1001 North Locust Avenue, at 12:18 a.m. A window on the north side of the building had been busted to create a point of entry.

   Once inside, officers report that the thieves took nearly a thousand lottery tickets. Loss and damages were estimated to total $1,724.

   At around the same time, a witness reported seeing a person get into a white SUV with large tires and wheels, then leave the scene, heading along Davis Street.

   Video surveillance of the theft was recovered from the market’s security system. Reports indicate the tape showed the crime was committed by a black male wearing a black jacket.
